I qualified as a teacher with a PGCE from the University of Exeter and I’ve been teaching ever since. After 24 years in schools and colleges I moved into adult education and began to exhibit my own work. In 2015 I took the plunge and became a self-employed artist and educator.
I’m an enthusiastic and supportive teacher with a good sense of humour. My classes combine foundation skills with experimentation and are suitable for adults working at all levels, from beginner to more advanced.

‘This was one of the best workshops I’ve done. Comfortable and fun with plenty of help if required. Some original ideas on composition and tone. I loved it all.’

‘Simon’s enthusiasm is contagious. By the end of our demonstration we felt keener than ever to paint harbour scenes.’
